If you or a family member is considering enrolling in a MagnaCare health insurance plan, it’s important to understand the range of options available.
While MagnaCare does not directly offer individual or family plans, nor does it provide Medicaid or Medicare coverage, it functions as a third-party administrator that partners with employers to design affordable group health plans tailored to employee needs.
Many of these employer-sponsored plans are designed to offer comprehensive coverage similar to Original Medicare, including benefits aligned with Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance). MagnaCare plans may also include added features such as:
Plan types vary and may include both Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) options, allowing for flexibility based on provider networks and out-of-network coverage preferences.
If you are employed by a company that uses MagnaCare to manage its health benefits, you may be eligible for coverage through one of these plans. Additionally, if you qualify for Medicare through your employer, it’s important to explore how your group health plan coordinates with Medicare benefits.
Be sure to review the specific details of each plan carefully to determine which best meets your healthcare and financial needs.
Currently, there are a few types of MagnaCare Insurance plans available:
- Participating Provider Option (PPO) – People with a PPO plan can decide where they go for care without needing a referral from their physician or prior authorization. They do not even need to see a doctor in-network.
- HDHP (High Deductible Health Plan) – This type of plan has a more increased deductible than a PPO, but generally lower monthly premiums.
- D-SNP – This is a special type of Medicare Advantage plan that offers additional aid and benefits at no extra charge for people who qualify for Medicare and Medicaid. However, you are not able to choose a separate Part D plan.
- EPO (Exclusive Provider Organization) – This particular insurance plan instructs you to see doctors within the network and may not supply coverage for out-of-network care unless it is an emergency.
- Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) – Meets the conditions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and contains a spectrum of preventative services.
- Customizable Plans – MagnaCare provides the flexibility to develop plans designed to specific requirements and budgets.
